Oltrarno, on the other side of the Arno river, is the district of artisan workshops and antique dealers, almost hidden among the narrow streets. A few minutes away from the Old Bridge, it’s also the district where the magnificent Pitti Palace stands, today the seat of six important museums such as the Palatina Gallery and the GAM (Modern Art Gallery Arte). Nearby, the Saint Spirit Church, whose interior was masterly renewed by Brunelleschi. Furthermore, the baroque S. Mary of the Carmine church with a precious Renaissance corner, the frescoes of the Brancacci Chapel, masterpiece by Masaccio and Masolino.
