The Academy Gallery


It houses some of the most important works by Michelangelo, such s as the original David, and the four “Slaves”, emblems of his personal artistic conception. In the Gallery, born with a didatic aim during the XVIII century, are also displayed paintings belonging to Giotto’s school, while a section is dedicated to works dating back to the XV and XVI centuries, executed by artists such as Paolo Uccello, Botticelli, Filippino Lippi, PeruginoBronzino and a section with plaster casts by Lorenzo Bartolini.
